Pressing Prayer Requests

by Dave In light of recent events and those upcoming we would like to ask for your prayer. Since we have been in France one of our classmates was diagnosed with cancer, three classmates have lost a parent, and just a couple of days ago one classmate fell down the steps and broke her right arm and fractured her left arm. On top of that two of our co-worker families in Cameroon have had to leave due to medical problems. All of this convinces us that we need your prayers. We know that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood”…

Day 14 of Praying the Impossible: That we would Take Cameroonians to Heaven with Us

Revelation 5:9-10   And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation,  and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” Pray that the Cameroonian people would be made a kingdom of priests to God and that they would rule and reign with Christ on the new earth. Pray that the Gospel would give us brothers and sisters in…

Day 13 of Praying the Impossible: That we would be Faithful Parents and Spouses

Ephesians 5:22-28  Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.  For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.  Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.  Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle…

Day 12 of Praying the Impossible: That our Faith would be Vibrant even when Surrounded by Darkness

Colossians 1:11-14  May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy,  giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.  He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son,  in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. That our faith would be strengthened with all power, for all endurance and patience with joy, and always giving thanks to the Father.  That we would not grow discouraged when surrounded by…

Day 11 of Praying the Impossible: That Signs and Wonders may be Performed in the Name of Jesus

Acts 4:29a-30  Grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus. That our ministry would look similar to that of Christ and of the early church as recorded in the book of Acts. Namely, that the Lord would evidence his power over sickness, idolatry, and darkness through signs and wonders.

Day 10 of Praying the Impossible: That we may Stand against the Schemes of the Devil

Ephesians 6:10-18  Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.  Stand therefore, having fastened on…

Day 9 of Praying the Impossible: Pray that there would be no Divisions among Believers, but instead Love

1 Corinthians 1:10  I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. John 13:35   By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. Pray that there would be no divisions between us and our fellow laborers in the Gospel but instead that our love for one another would demonstrate God’s love to a dark world.

Day 8 of Praying the Impossible: Pray our Children would be Saved and would Adopt our Ministry as their Own

Proverbs 23:26   My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.  Pray that every one of our children would be born again and would personally seek to further the ministry of the Gospel in Cameroon.

Day 7 of Praying the Impossible: Pray that we would Love

1 Corinthians 13:2-3  If I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Pray that we would be patient and kind.  That we would not envy or boast.  That we would not be arrogant or rude.  Pray that we would not insist on our own way or be irritable or resentful.  Pray that we would not…

Day 6 of Praying the Impossible: Pray that Jesus would Build his Church in Cameroon

Matthew 16:18   And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Pray that Jesus would build his church in Cameroon and that she would be pure, holy, free from sexual immorality, light in a culture of darkness, and would bear much good fruit and endure in worship of Christ.
